Amecho Wato Latrine Project - Ethiopia
A journey inspired by SFA founder’s son, Myles
This Giving Tuesday, SFA is giving back to a community near Myles’s birthplace by raising $10,000 to build a latrine at the Amecho Number 1 School in Kembata, Ethiopia.
At Amecho Wato Primary, students walk to class eager to learn but face an everyday barrier many of us take for granted: safe, private sanitation. Strides for Africa is partnering with Roots Ethiopia and local leaders to build a gender-segregated latrine block with handwashing stations and menstrual-hygiene supplies. The latrine will be community-owned and accompanied by training so it stays functional long term.
