Rwanda

Strides for Africa has been working with local partners Rwandan Orphans Project and Water Access Rwanda, since 2017. To date, our work has helped bring clean water sources to 4 locations, benefiting an estimated 4,286+ people. Our current work is focused with Water Access Rwanda, bringing clean water to schools near Kigali and also near Akagera National Park.

St. Jean Bosco Secondary School

2022: Rainwater Collection and Filtration System

A participant at Strides for Africa 2021 showed interest to make a difference in his home country of Rwanda. This was our first project with Water Access Rwanda, a social enterprise started by his childhood friend.

Imizi Children Center

2017: Gutter Collection and Cistern

Co-funded with Feeding Mouths, Filling Minds. We visited this facility in early 2017, and learned about the inconsistency of this public water source. We loved the work of the Rwandan Orphans Project at this location, and this project helped to provide this facility with a consistent clean water source.

St. Jean Bosco Primary School

2023: Rainwater Collection and Filtration System

Following our 2022 visit to this school, we made it a priority to bring clean water to the Primary School that neighbors our first project at the Secondary School.
